How to set up e-invoicing with Securex?

Have you switched to e-invoicing and would you like to receive payment requests for social contributions as e-invoices? In the simple guide below, you can read how to start receiving payment requests from the social security fund Securex as e-invoices.

Guide to receiving e-invoices from Securex

You will receive a payment request for your social contributions every quarter. Make things easier for yourself by automating part of the process by activating e-invoicing.

What is e-invoicing?

Just a reminder: e-invoices are not the same as digital invoices. A PDF is a digital invoice, but it is definitely not an e-invoice. Furthermore, all Belgian self-employed individuals will be required to work with e-invoices starting in 2026.

E-invoices are specific XML files sent in UBL format via the Peppol network. These UBL standards ensure that all necessary information is included on the invoice and that it is readable by accounting or invoicing software, such as Accountable.

💡 Accountable tip: You can use Accountable to receive and send e-invoices via the Peppol network, even in our free plan. Try Accountable now.

How to register with Peppol?

To activate e-invoicing via Peppol with Securex or other recurring suppliers, you need invoicing or accounting software. After that, you can register for Peppol. The registration is free and quick.

Here’s how to do it through Accountable:

  1. Log in: Access your account via the website or app.
  2. Open the menu: navigate to “Settings.”
  3. Select Peppol: choose Peppol (e-invoicing).
  4. Sign up: register to receive e-invoices via the Peppol network.

It may take a few minutes for your activation to be processed. Not sure if it worked? Check if your company is listed in the Peppol Directory.

All set to receive e-invoices

Once your registration is complete, you will automatically receive e-invoices from your social security fund and other suppliers that support e-invoicing. Your invoices will then automatically appear in the expenses screen in Accountable.
